Director of LEARN
Whole School SEND Regional LEAD &
Emily has worked in education for 23 years, having taught in a mixture of mainstream primary and special secondary schools in various locations and roles, from teacher through to senior leader. She strongly believes that all children deserve the best possible chance to succeed in life and is passionate about supporting teachers and leaders in making this happen.
For the latter half of Emily’s career, she has focused on working with learners with Special Educational Needs. Initially as an Assistant Headteacher within a special secondary school and then for the last 3 years as the Director of a Teaching School specialising in SEND.
Within these roles Emily has held responsibilities across a broad spectrum of activities, from curriculum development to the management and development of NQT’s/ITT’s. Her ability to analyse and interpret data lead to a secondment to develop and roll out a “data dashboard” for use across a multi-academy trust, bringing together all facets of school life into an easily understood summary.
Emily now runs LEARN, a Teaching School in Lincolnshire that specialises in SEND. Actively involved with the Local Authority and the Lincolnshire Teaching Schools Together (LTT), Emily supports the alignment of the SEND training provision and requirement across the areas active projects to raise the profile of SEND throughout the offer.
Through her growing reputation as a specialist in the SEND field and the successful delivery of a number of high-profile projects within her current role, Emily has recently joined the East Midland South Yorkshire and Humber Whole School SEND Team where she looks forward to continuing to champion SEND across the region.
Deputy Director of LEARN
Sarah has worked in education for the last 16 years in a number of different roles and settings.
She has previously worked in primary and secondary settings as a teacher, NCETM Maths AST, Youth Liaison Officer for an Education and Military charity, a SENCo and as a senior leader. Within her role Sarah is also the lead ECF facilitator of LEARN, supporting ECTs across the county.
As LEARN’s Office Manager, Amy is responsible for all office procedures, overseeing LEARN’s training courses and looking after our trainers and delegates.
Amy brings over 15 years of administrative experience in Office Management and Human Resources having previously worked for a number of Arts organisations across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and London.
Teaching and Learning Lead Practitioner
Jacqui has worked in education for 23 years, having taught in a mixture of mainstream primary schools in various locations and roles, from teaching assistant to teacher through to Deputy Head. Jacqui developed an interest in SEN and took a position of SENCO when a role became available. She has also worked for the County’s Home Tuition service supporting children who aren’t currently in education.
She strongly believes that all children deserve the best possible chance to succeed in life and is passionate about supporting teachers and leaders in making this happen. Within her role Jacqui delivers SEN specific bespoke support to schools across the East Midlands, she is also the lead NPQ and QA facilitator for LEARN.
